Description:
English lusterware jug decorated with copper and pink lusters. The scrolled handle, top 1/3 of the globular-shaped body, and footed base are covered with copper luster; the lower 2/3 of the body is covered with copper luster floral and foliate scrolls on a pink luster background. There is a molded band around the top rim and along the edges of the handle; and a molded foliate pattern under the shaped spout. The piece was in the donor's family of Wilbraham, Mass. for several generations: Lucinda Johnson Carlton to Mary A. (Carlton) Howard, to Mary Howard Green, to Martin S. Howard.
