Description:
English pearlware, cylindrical mug, covered with slip decoration, also known as mocha, banded, or dipped ware, which came from the Ashley-Boyden house on Conway Rd. on Rt. 116 in Deerfield. The mug was wheel-thrown and then turned on a lathe. The straight-sided mug has a strap handle with foliate terminals, which is uncolored, and a slightly flared molded base. The outside body has been rouletted with an impressed dot or net pattern and bands of blue around the body with a band of green oxide at the top and base. The mug has a ridged foot.
