Description:
Chinese export porcelain octagonal hot-water dish decorated in underglaze blue with the "willow" pattern with house, bridge, boats, trees, birds. These dishes were used to keep the food warm, after being placed on the table. The EH Williams 1838 probate inventory refers to: "70 pieces making part of a China Dining Sett .... 10.00"
