English miniature or toy foot bath decorated with a blue transfer print with a floral and dot pattern - this tureen has no handles, lid, or undertray. According to the Transferware Collectors' Club database, "[this tureen is] part of a toy dinnerware set for children. This sheet pattern, with a TCC assigned name called "Daisy and Checkerboard", combines floral and geometric elements: a grid of evenly-spaced white dots rests atop a blue-stippled ground. A dark blue daisy is placed within each square of the grid, producing a tablecloth-type effect. None of the pieces are marked, and no documentation has been found for this pattern. However, two makers, John Rogers & Son and William Hackwood, were producing children’s toy dinnerware sets with similarly-colored sheet patterns at this time. Search the database for ‘Flowing Berries and Flowers’ and ‘Floral Sheet Pattern’ in the Children’s Subjects/Toy China category to see blue-printed floral patterns by these makers." A small plate is known in this pattern HD 82.078. The form appears similar to a foot bath.
