Description:
English copper luster, footed coffeepot in a neo-classical style. The pot has a reeded, domed lid with a ball finial and rope molding around the rim; a reeded urn-shaped body with a long, curved spout and scrolled handle; and a circular, flat base connected to the body by a short neck. There is vertical line decoration between the reeding; horizontal line decoration around the lid, body, and foot; and stylized leaf decoration around the neck, and along the spout and handle. The handle molding shows silver-style rivet heads. This piece was formerly in the collection of John B. Morris, Jr., given to Deerfield Academy, and then purchased from DA in 1981.
