Description:
Framed lithograph of the first eleven Presidents of U.S. published by Nathaniel Currier (1813-1888) of Spruce St., New York, in 1844. The portraits of the first eleven presidents of the United States are arranged with their names and dates in office in a circle around a larger portrait of George Washington (1732-1799), 1st President of the USA. Below Washington is a small vignette of John Trumbull's depiction of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The portrait at the base of the circle is that of James Knox Polk (1795-1849), 11th President of the USA, and is labeled "President Elect."
