Description:
English lusterware cream pitcher with a deeply curved spout, scroll handle, and flat base. The pitcher is covered overall with copper lustre and decorated with a blue slip band around the body and a floral spray in red-orange, green, pink, and yellow. Its copper lustre decoration is created by applying gold salts to the red earthenware body, where in the heat of the kiln the metal is deposited as a thin layer on the surface.
