Description:
English lusterware jug with a deeply curved spout, triple beaded band around the rim, scroll handle, and footed base. The jug is covered with copper lustre and decorated with a band of pink lustre with copper lustre lines around the straight neck and a white slip band around the lower body with floral sprays in orange and green and pink, and copper lustre. Its copper lustre decoration is created by applying gold salts to the red earthenware body, where in the heat of the kiln the metal is deposited as a thin layer on the surface.
