Description:
Dutch delft dish decorated in blue, red, yellow and green. The well is decorated edge-to-edge with a large stylized, triangular-shaped yellow vase with blue, yellow, and green flowers, standing on two round, blue-edged rock shapes; other flowers, foliage, and green foreground fill the rest of the well. The rim has a band of yellow circles alternating with blue and green trefoils and green leaves, linked with a scalloped red band. According to Dutch Delftware scholar Jan Daniel van Dam, these brightly colored dishes were originally made for rural people, but nowadays they grace the lavish kitchens of many a large house in the Netherlands."
