Description:
Pair of English lusterware vases decorated with multi-colored floral decoration and copper lustre. They were bought by Miss C. Alice Baker (1833-1909) in Cambridge, England. Their copper lustre decoration is created by applying gold salts to the red earthenware body, where in the heat of the kiln the metal is deposited as a thin layer on the surface.
