Description:
Chinese export porcelain coffee cup with handle decorated in black, brown, green and gilding with a young peasant woman with a bucket on her head standing by a fence, a design known as "Perrette et le pot au lait." This scene might be based on an illustration of the de La Fontaine fable, "La Laitiere et el pot au lait" (Book VII, Fable X); however, no related engraving has yet been found.
