Description:
English salt-glazed, press-molded stoneware flask or bottle that looks like a pocketbook with a cork at one end. The pocket book is rectangular in shape with the top flap folded over and stuck in a loop, and decorated with T-shaped punches. The phenomena of these decorative flasks is described in Ivor Noel Hume, "If These Pots Could Talk", (Milwaukee, WI: The Chipstone Foundation, 2001), pp. 301-327.
