Description:
One of seven pieces of Chinese export porcelain coffee set (62.230A-.230G) with two coffee cups, two saucers, two plates, and one dish decorated in orange, black, iron red, brown, white, and gilding. The round coffee cup has terraced, tapering sides and a wide C-shaped applied handle with partially moulded spine and gilded leaf detail. The wide orange, black, brown and white band around the rim has a Western landscape scene which includes a man carrying a fishing pole walking along with his dog in front of him, a man standing with a cane, a person sitting on the ground, a building with a running fence, rocks, foliage and clouds; and the a gilt lined roundel in the center well has a bird perched on a vase supported on a plinth, basket of flowers, and other foliage.
