Description:
Chinese export hexagonal or six-sided teapot stand with rounded edges decorated with a blue and white square design or diaper pattern on the rim. The lobed-hexagonal shape of this teapot stand, also popular for spoon trays, was indigenous to China. The well has a raised bianco-sopra-bianco design of a tree with leaves, a running fence, and three flowers on the ground. The rim is covered with a brown slip. There is a modern dealer label printed in blue on reverse, "ELINOR GORDON / Oriental / Lowestoft / Villanova, PA." The surface of the stand is abraded.
