Description:
Leather-bound book titled "Sacred Poetry and Music Reconciled or a Collection of Hymns" by Samuel Willard (1776-1859). In 1807, Willard was ordained minister of the First Congregational Church of Deerfield where he served until 1829. The red leather cover is stamped in gold "A. STEBBINS" who was probably Asa Stebbins (1800-1864) of Deerfield, and has a gilt border around the edges; there is a presentation inscription on the fly leaf.
