Description:
English pearlware, press-molded whistle in the shape of a bird decorated in brown, green, and orange. The bird, whose head is turned backwards, has incised circles with dots for eyes, green and orange wings, and brown accents over the body. The whistle area extends from the top of the back, just before the tail. This example is unusual in that the whistle is not in the tail.

Subjects:
Pottery; glaze (coating by location)
