Description:
Dutch (probably) delft bowl with a flared rim, tapered base and applied foot rim, which is decorated in blue with stylized, scrolling flowers and vines, and painted on the underside with a "7" or "V." used for holding food or liquids.There is a similar bowl depicted in "Delfts aardewerk, Geschiedenis van een nationaal product" which was used to serve food or liquid and is dated 1665. In 1975, John C. Austin believed it to be English or Dutch, but had not seen this shape in English delftware.
