Description:
English pearlware mug with an applied, strap handle, decorated with a chinoiserie scene in red, green, purple, and blue. The straight-sided body has a diaper border in red with blue dots, outlined in red bands around the rim; over a garden scene with a standing young woman pointing her right hand with forefinger extended and holding the stem of a folded parasol in the crook of her left arm, surrounded by large floral sprays and a running fence in the background. There are three incised lines around the molded flat base. The strap handle is decorated with blue dots.
