Description:
Dutch tin-glaze earthenware decorated in cobalt blue. The well has the initials "AKGHA" intersecting with "ASGWA" at the "G", encircled with a blue band. This is a 'grace' plate, where the initials reflect a religious sentiment: "God Siet Alles" or "God sees all"; "God Weet Alles" or "God knows all"; "God Hoort Alles" or "God hears all"; "God Kent Alles" or "God understands all". The rim is decorated with floral border of half flower heads and scrolling leaf sprigs; the rim edge is yellow.
