Description:
Small box in the shape of a hat, covered with marbelized paper in blues and beiges, which might have been used as a thimble case or purse. There is an inscription inside the lid: "This belonged to Dear Aunt Julia and was given to me on March 3, 1892 / Emily L. Thorne." The interior of the box has a knitted blue and white hat that fits into the hat top.
