Label Text:
While distinctly contemporary in design, the furniture of Dale Broholm respects its historical roots. For Sit Up & Take Notice!, he was challenged by the donor to make a comfortable bench to provide rest for weary museum visitors, resulting in the only upholstered piece in the project. As he says, “My philosophy is that each piece of furniture should be a beautiful, functional, comfortable, durable work of art. Furniture should enhance life both physically and mentally.”
