"Monkey on the back of a horse" refers to a Chinese idiom "Ma (same pronunciation with horse) shang feng hou (same pronunciation with monkey)", literally translated as "obtain the royal title of Marquis soon." Jade carving of this form embodies the wish for people to get promotion and honor in the near future.
