Description: This Sun kachina's head is decorated with red hair and feathers. His face displays red and yellow paint on his forehead, a serrated white border, and carved eyes/mouth on blue paint. Displaying a multicolored (red, blue, yellow, white) body, the kachina wears brown yarn bracelets and holds a gourd rattle and bell in either hand. Around his waist is a classic Hopi man's belt worn for kachina ceremonies--woven white cotton and decorated with a replica of a woven, dyed woolen sash. His white apron is also decorated with a pattern. Stepping in place, his feet wear shoes as he stands atop a wooden platform. He was made for a tourist audience. AP2018
