Description:
Great Exhibition of the Works of Industry of all Nations; World Fair; Crystal Palace Exhibition; Germany; Prussian Saxony ; culture; colonialism; trade; display on right: "Tableau of plastic work representing a rural fete, held at Castle Florence, the country palace of the Duke of Saxe Cobourg Gotha, the residence of H.M. the Queen, when on a visit to the Duke, and the place where H.R.H. Prince Albert was born. This tableau contains about 400 moving figures, bands of music" staged by an association of manufactures at Sonneberg, Duchy of Saxe Coburg and Gotha; sculpture in center: "Group, in zinc, bronzed, representing an Amazon on horseback attacked by a tiger - modelled by Professor A. [August] Kiss, and cast in zinc and bronzed by M. Geiss, of berlin"
