Excerpt from wall label, for the exhibition “The Unexpected Encounters of Looking Again,” November 28 - March 15, 2007:
This work by Annette Lemieux makes a political statement both within the context of the time it was made and in the context of today’s political situation involving Iraq. While this image was created during the Gulf War in 1990, it is almost impossible to see any military image today and not to automatically equate it with the current political situation. - Rebecca Karp (M.A. '08)
