Description:
This charcoal drawing gesturally depicts a nude woman lying down on some unidentifiable object, one leg bent up and concealing her genitalia from view. Her body creates a strong diagonal across the page from the bottom left corner to the upper right, and a series of straight, angled lines suggests that the space she inhabits is some kind of room, perhaps Mazur’s studio. Charcoal lines are smudeged to create shading, and the figure is foreshortened to create perspective. Mazur hints at the female subject’s breasts, but her face appears as no more than a smudge against the white paper.
