Description: Abstract, bird-like forms ripple across the entirety of the image's black background. The forms create a rainbow gradient and each have white dots on them, emulating stars.
Label Text: Label text (excert) from graduate curated exhibition: "We Gotta Get Out of This Place - Transportive Art" March 24 - May 1 and September 30 - December 11, 2022; Tirzah Frank (MA 2022) and Cecily Hughes (MA 2022) Local artist Oriole Farb Feshbach spent much of her career depicting nature, especially light, sky, and space. Star-crossed, with its rainbow cross-hatched by darker lines, is no exception. At first glance, the image seems to straightforwardly depict the sky, but small circles, almost like air bubbles floating throughout, suggest an underwater scene. And what about those darker lines? Is the rainbow trapped behind them? Or are they merely a passing flock of birds or a patch of seaweed, obstructing our view for just a moment?
