Description:
This small woven basket, shaped like a bowl, was woven with willow, bear grass, or maidenhair fern--all common fibers used by Pit River individuals to create their black and white basketry. Small black dots are seen around the rim of the basket, which is damaged. A line of white chevrons appears around the center of the basket, within a black geometric pattern. A black dotted pattern is also present on the bottom of the basket. AP2018
