Description:
This Yei Be Chei carving wears a blue, rounded mask that reveals the backside of his white head. On the mask are common Yei Be Chei features--painted eyes and a carved yellow "beak" surrounded by feathers, a neckpiece made of greenery, and a glass bead necklace meant to resemble turquoise. His white body is decorated with colorful yarn and a fox pelt trailing down his back, whereas his hands carry a white gourd rattle and a bough of greenery. Around his waist is a black and silver concha belt, as well as a pink apron decorated with sequins ("silver") and ribbon. His legs feature brightly colored yarn and reddish brown boots. AP2018
