Description:
vase; spreading ring foot on short fat stem; steep wall, thin jutting edge at top of wall; convex lid with broad mouldings; spool knob on short stem; reserved: on the bowl- outer face of foot, resting surface and underside with small central circle and dot, the outer edge of the rim and the horizontal top, on the lid- resting surface and underside, two broad bands above, and the knob, with a band of glaze round its upper edges and a broad circle and dot in the central depression; glaze black on the bowl outside, beneath, inside, and on the lid, red-brown, the lid apparently fired upside down in the bowl
