Label Text: SKINNER CATALOGUE: A large size cast iron cannon ball, which was dug up between Monument Avenue and Soley Street, Charlestown, Mass. At the time of the Battle of Bunker's Hill there was an English battery located on Copps Hill, north end of Boston. This battery, as well as the guns from two British ships in the harbor, fired on the American entrenchments; the shots, however, falling short and doing no harm. As the Americans had no cannon as large as this, this ball must be one which was fired by the Copps Hill battery. Diam: 4 1/2" Weight: 12 lbs Presented by Mr. Joseph Folkard through Mr. Fred M. Collins.
