Label Text: SKINNER CATALOGUE: A Boer automatic pistol of the Boer War, 1899-1902. Blued steel throughout, with walnut grip. Shot chamber below, with knee action spring to force the shot into the firing chamber; elevating sight, marked to 800 meters or 1000 yards; safety catch; firing requires cocking the trigger. Spring cover closed holster in walnut, which may be attached to the butt of the pistol to serve as a short rifle. Pistol marked: WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER OBERNDORF A NECKAR on side of trigger box and top of barrel base: 257303 - three times: 303 - on the trigger: German proof mark (U and two mitres) on side of barrel base and top of firing plate. Weight: 2 lbs 8 ozs.
