Description: French Charleville flint lock musket. Round barrel with three bands, sling swivels, 6 1/4" lock plate, 44" ramrod, 16 1/2" bayonet. Model of 1763. These muskets were purchased from the French and were the principal gun used by the Continental troops in the Revolutionary War. Marked in script on the lock plate "CHARLEVILLE". S stamped on under side of butt. Length of barrel: 45" Weight: 9 lbs, 14 ozs
