SKINNER CATALOGUE: A late 18th century Sheraton arm chair, painted black with gold banding and lining, long leaf design in gray on arm supports, three picture panels on top rail, the center one a lady reclining on a sofa. All paint badly marred and worn, but original. Back delicate, with double top rails, triple bottom rails, and S and reverse S lattice design between. Arms semi recessed, square in section, terminating in scrolls, and with curving supports connecting to the front posts. Back posts bowed, square at the joints, turned between; front posts bowed, turned throughout, tapering to the floor and extending 4 1/8 inches above the seat. No stretchers. Cane seat, bowed at front, slightly bowed at sides and back. Back lattice has been repaired and reenforced behind with black painted tin. Cat. 8/20/1936
