Description:
Obverse: Bust of Sasanian king right, wearing crown with wings, crescent, and star. Three more stars with crescents in margin at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock.
Obverse legend: "Hani" over an abbreviation for "justice" [right field, transl. from Kufic (Arabic)], "May his splendor grow" [left field, transl. from Pahlavi (Middle Persian)], "Excellent" [2nd quarter margin, transl. from Kufic (Arabic)], "Good" [3rd quarter margin, transl. from Kufic (Arabic)]
Reverse: Fire altar flanked by attendants holding staffs. Three bands surrounding and four stars with crescents in margin at 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock. Margin further divided by four groups of three dots in between the stars.
Reverse legend: "Tabaristan" [mint name, right field, Pahlavi (Middle Persian)] and "PYE 137" [date, left field, Pahlavi (Middle Persian)]
