Description: Woman's day cap of net and cotton applique lace. The crown is separate from brim section, and is gathered slightly at top (rises about 1.5" above head). The brim is made of 3 ruffles (not gathered), the widest and most interior brim ruffle ends in two 15.25" lappets (3.25" at top, 4.25" bottom, rounded edge). The ruffles are 1.75, 2.6, 3.8" wide. The appliques are in floral patterns circles and clovers, similar to carrickmacross lace, and stitched on to background using a chain stitch indicative of Belgium make (referred to as "Belgian muslin applique").
