Description: Whitish-grey colored stoneware jug or pitcher with a curved pouring spout and coil handle, and decorated with large blue floral sprays and cobalt blue on the handle; Albany slip on the interior. Impressed mark near the spout may be a maker's mark. Although not marked with volume, the jug appears to the 1 gallon in size. According to stoneware collector Peter Schreiber, this painted floral decoration is associated with the work of Richard C. Remmey's Pottery in Philadephia, PA, c. 1860-1870s.
