Description:
Unbleached plain weave linen (unshaped) rectangular piece, possibly a valence, embroidered in blue linen in a dense floral motif with a matching blue fringe around the sides and bottom. The stitches do not appear to be characteristic of the New England region. Acquired by Mrs. Flynt from J.A. Lloyd Hyde in November, 1961.
