Description:
Towel woven in a variation of twill weave sometimes known as overshot or M and O. This example features alternating plain weave sections with 3:3 twill. The selvage-wide towel is hemmed 1/8" at both the top and bottom. This woven configuration not only helped to make the textile stronger, but the short floats helped make the linen extra absorbent. A loop at either (cut and hemmed) shorter end allowed for ease of hanging up the towel when not in use or to dry.
