Description:
Part of a larger set composed of a sofa, gentleman's chair, lady's chair, and four side chairs in the Renaissance Revival style, the parlor suite relies on molded and carved cabriole shapes and its original tufted horsehair upholstery for its decorative impact. The suite is significant for its completeness and the survival of its original upholstery. It was purchased by the donor at a house auction in Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts.
