Description:
Black and white print titled "His Royal Highness William Duke of Cumberland/ With a View of the Routed Rebel Army near Culloden", made by John Wooten (1686-1765) who worked in London as a painter, and engraved by Bernard Baron (1696-1766), published August 10, 1747. Cumberland rides a prancing horse, while pointing to the Culloden battlefield where he was victorious over the catholic Stuart pretenders to the protestant British throne. William Augustus was the third son of George II and uncle of George III.
