Description: English delft plate decorated in the Fazackerly colors of blue, yellow, purple and dull blue-green. The center well has a central floral sprig with yellow and purple flowers; the rim has four floral sprigs with a large purple, daisy-like flower and smaller blue and yellow flowers. This plate was part of the C. Alice Baker (1833-1909) Bequest, included in the contents of the Frary House. According to the file, the plate was given to Miss Baker by Mrs. Henry King Hoyt of Deerfield (born Catherine Wells, 1805-1891), listed in the Emma Lewis Coleman (1853-1942) Inventory #46 and 1963 Inventory #35. In Concerning Frary House by Emma Lewis Coleman, she writes "Delft (looks old and valuable) and purplish fish plate came from Mrs. Hoyt. I believe these to be rare."
