Description: Iron and brass candlestand or floor standard and an iron snuffer marked "IC", which descended in the Hoyt family of Deerfield and was once part of the furnishings of the Old Indian House. Mrs. Henry King Hoyt of Deerfield (born Catherine Wells, 1805-1891) gave many ofd family pieces such as this candlestand to Miss C. Alice Baker (1833-1909). The tall, tapered shaft is topped with a brass elongated lemon-shaped finial; over a cross arm with two brass drip pans and candle cups over the scrolled ends; brass hooks; rectangular friction grip; brass ornamentation on the lower shaft; and a tripod base with curved, flat-shaped knees and decorative feet with a pierced diamond shape in each.
