Description: Chinese export porcelain, ovoid-shaped tea canister decorated in the Famille rose palette in brown, black, iron red, rose, yellow, green, and gilding. The canister has a short neck, arched shoulders, overhanging rim, and a gilt wave-scroll border around the base, a form popular from 1735-1765. The domed cover has a mushroom knop. The canister is decorated on both sides with a gilt and brown cartouche, surrounded by iron red and rose flourishes, with a river harbor landscape scene of three figures, one with barrel and one fishing.
