Description: Child's pine settle or chair covered with a dark brown stain and with a strip of red chintz cloth along the length of the front skirt. The chair has a simple, unturned design, made up of five pieces of wood: back, two sides, and front skirt. The back is rounded at the top; the arms are curved; and the skirt is square. The pieces are nailed together without any evidence of mortis and tenon or dovetails. It may have originally been a rocking chair, which was later modified.
