Description:
Chinese export porcelain candlestick with an eight-lobed saucer base, which is a copy of the European candlestick in Chinese taste. The base has a molded and applied small brown tree shrew (dormouse), vines, berries and leaves, painted flowers, and an arched dragon handle. There are two small spill tubular holders for spills or tapers, one in the shape of a tree rat (which is missing a head); other is a bamboo trunk with raised dots and ribs with painted bamboo leaves. The holder has similar bamboo and flower decoration. Paired with HD 56.100.
