Description: Chest of drawers or bureau with a flat front, four graduated drawers with brass escutcheons and replaced oval brass handles, and tall French feet. The rectangular-shaped top is decorated with a band of diamond-patterned inlay on the front edge. The top of the chest features a central inlaid diamond-shaped panel outlined with dark, light, and green colored string inlay. On the front of the chest, just above the top drawer, is a narrow birds eye maple veneer panel, outlined in light and green colored stringing, and surrounded by cherry cross banded veneers. The drawer fronts also feature rectangular-shaped birds eye maple veneer panels, outlined in light and green colored stringing, and surrounded by cherry cross banded veneers. The undulating skirt, or lower front edge, features a central drop panel, which is inset with a diamond shaped panel outlined in light and dark colored stringing. A band of checker-patterned inlay also ornaments the lower edge of the central drop panel. Bands of this checker-patterned inlay also decorate the lower front edge of the chest as well as the midsection of the two front feet.
