Description: Press molded circular plate with polychrome painted floral designs on the rim, and a black transfer-printed scene on the well depicting three men standing over large copper pans used for boiling sugar. Printed above and below the scene is the phrase, "SUGAR / How it grows & How it's made / OPEN PAN BOILING." The reverse features an indistinct, impressed mark, which may read, "J. CARR & Co."
