Description: Elongated oval snuff box with straight sides, fitted with hinged brass mounts and a snap closure, white enamel with black transfer printed decoration, the cover is transfer printed with a scene of a fashionably dressed man holding a staff and elegant woman walking in a garden, an urn on plinth in the background, the sides are decorated with putti emblematic of The Arts within scrollwork. These images could have been inspired by Jacques Pillement's The Ladies Amusement, a popular design source in 18th century England. Condition: There is abrasion and small cracks on the cover and one chip that is slightly filled with plaster?.
