Description: Bannister-back armchair with broad, cyma-curved crest rail, four turned and reversed banisters, similarly-turned stiles topped by elongated spool-like finials, and collar-and-urn turned front legs that extend to support the arms with rolled handholds. Evidence of red paint or stain beneath the current layer of dark paint. The rush seat is replaced. The armchair's turnings are similar to those found on another armchair in Historic Deerfield's collection (accession number: 69.0635), which is attributed to Zadock King, Jr. (b. 1754) of Deerfield, Massachusetts.
